Aamro Experience

I always had a passion for aviation.   When I was a young teen, my dad learned to fly and bought his own C-172.  We flew a lot together. I soloed when I was 16 years old.  I went to Embry-Riddle and became a CFI in 1978.  I’ve been teaching ever since.  I hold a Commercial Multi-Engine Certificate and am a CFI and CFII.  I have given over 8000 hours of dual instruction. Now at 63 years old, I have been flying for nearly 50 years!  Dozens of my students have gone on to enjoy Professional Pilot careers.  AOPA has recognized me several times as a Distinguished CFI and has given me 3 Flight Training Experience Awards. 

As Director of Operations at Aamro, I am dedicated to providing excellence in flight training to each and every student with a keen dedication to safe operating practices for each and every one of our students and instructors.

Hi my name is Justin Hein and I have been with Aamro Aviation since February 2020. Starting in early 2021, I began managing the F45 office. Born and raised in West Palm Beach, I attended The King’s Academy and then furthered my education at Florida Atlantic University, where I graduated in 2021.

I always had a passion for aviation since I was young, constantly taking trips to PBI to watch planes. I first started flying at Aamro in the summer of 2019 and currently working on my commercial license. 

My name is Nicolas Cortes Cifuentes, and my passion for aviation has shaped my life. From a young age, I was captivated by the idea of flying, and that fascination led me to pursue a career as a pilot.

I began my training at 18, earning my private pilot’s license and then my commercial certification. Now, as a chief flight instructor, I find great fulfillment in teaching aspiring pilots and watching them grow into skilled aviators.

One of the key milestones in my career was the opportunity to work with AAMRO, which provided valuable experiences that have shaped my professional journey.

Looking ahead, my ultimate goal is to join the airlines and fly across the world, continuing to turn my passion into a lifelong career.

Hello, my name is Ryan Lally: Aviation was a career change for me, started by a friend who is a pilot that gave me a discovery flight as a gift, and I haven’t looked back. It’s very rewarding as a CFI now to do those same discovery flights for people who want to learn to fly and see the smile on their face the second we lift off the runway!

I joined the Italian Air Force when I was 19. After having earned my “wing” and after my Master Degree in Aeronautical Engineering I was assigned to the Italian Flight Test Center.
When I left the Air Force, I flew for the Italian airline owned by Lufthansa and then in Alitalia group. I am EASA Class, Type and flight Examiner, FAA Instructor with a total of more than 33,000 hours. I was selected and part of the first Italian group of Astronauts for the Spacelab/Space Shuttle program. Currently, I am a CFI/CFII/MEI at Aamro Aviation since 2015.

My name is Steven Olsen, I’ve been a pilot since 2017 and my adventures have taken me all over the Southeast United States and even the Bahamas. I’ve landed at the beautiful and sunny Key West all the way up to the ancient Appalachian Mountains that surround Asheville. Flying is my passion and I love showing other people what taking to the friendly skies is like.

Hi my name is Zach! I grew up in New Jersey before moving to South Florida to attend college at Lynn University and graduating in 2020. I have been a Flight Instructor since 2019 and I am passionate and dedicated to providing the best flight training training experience. I currently fly for JetBlue Airways and I strive to incorporate real world airline flying into the flight training environment. There is nothing better than being able to see student’s advance their careers to the highest level of professional aviation and to be a piece of the puzzle is rewarding.

My name is Jeff Hernandez and I’m proud to be working at Aamro as a desk agent while working on my commercial pilot certificate. I’ve always loved airplanes since I was a kid, and my goal is fly for a major airline in the future. Outside of the airport, I’m an emergency goaltender for the Florida Panthers of the NHL, and love to be on the ice with my friends

As a Florida native, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, being out on the boat, and playing golf whenever I can. I am a proud Embry-Riddle alumnus, where I studied Aviation Business and Supply Chain Management. I began flying in 2020 and am currently continuing my aviation journey as a flight instructor.

Hello, my name is Mackenzie Dieter, I am 23 and a Florida native. My love for aviation started later than most when I began my college career at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.  In 2022 I graduated from ERAU with my BS in Global Conflict Studies as well as a double minor in Homeland Security and Terrorism Studies. Currently, I am working at the front desk here at AAMRO while finishing my pilot ratings. In my free time I love being outdoors and spending time with loved ones

A first-generation aviator, I’ve been taking to the skies since 2019, beginning my aviation journey at age 17 and later earning a Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. My aviation roots began right here at Aamro Aviation, where I completed my private pilot training. Returning as a Certified Flight Instructor has been a rewarding way to continue that connection and contribute to the same environment where my own passion for flying took shape. As an instructor, I find the greatest satisfaction in relating to my students as individuals and remembering what it was like to be in their position — eager to learn and eager to fly. I strive to create an atmosphere that’s both supportive and challenging, helping each student build confidence and skill in every phase of training.

Aviation has been a part of my life from the very beginning—growing up around helicopters with my dad as a pilot. After taking my first intro flight, I immediately caught the bug. I moved to Florida to attend flight school and have been dedicated to aviation ever since. As a flight instructor, my goal is to share my passion for flying while ensuring my students develop the skills, confidence, and discipline needed to become safe and proficient pilots

I began my ratings in Wisconsin, then I finished my ratings in Texas, and now I am instructing here in Florida. Hello! My name is Anthony Alderman. I am from West Palm Beach, FL born and raised. I am a CFII and have a huge passion for aviation! If I’m not in the air, you will find me playing basketball, pickleball and shooting some pool.

Growing up playing Microsoft Flight Simulator, I dreamed of flying airplanes. Flying with the EAA Young Eagles as a teenager brought the dream closer.  When I took my first discovery flight, the dream arrived!  I was thrilled to begin fight training at L3Harris Flight Academy through a part 141 program.  Excited for the fast-pace in a busy airspace, I was ready to learn quickly.  Working on my flying technique, learning to make good decisions, and exploring the aviation culture was trilling to me.  Before I knew it, I plowed through my ratings and arrived at my CFI certificate with a burning passion to share what I love with others; and enjoy the opportunity I have dreamed about since I was a child.

Hello, my name is Sean Murray. Aviation was a career change for me. After leaving the Marine Corps, my buddies took me up for a flight and I was instantly hooked. I graduated from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University with a degree in Aeronautical Science while also obtaining my Commercial Multi-Engine certificate and then my CFI and CFII. Aviation is my passion and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to share that with others.

I’m a passionate flight instructor and love helping students reach their aviation goals. I hold a business degree and stay active running marathons and playing pickleball. Flying lets me combine my love of learning with adventure. I bring energy and dedication to everything I do.

Hi, my names Landon Sytsema and I’m a CFII here at Aamro. I’ve been flying since 2021 and earned by bachelors in aeronautical science in early 2025. Throughout my time in aviation, I’ve worked line service at my local airport where I gained a wealth of knowledge not only from a pilot perspective, but an operational standpoint as well. My goal as an instructor is to light the fire inside every aspiring pilot and help them achieve their goal in the vast world of aviation as a safe, confident pilot.

Hi, I’m Taylor. Aviation has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. After my very first commercial flight to Boston, I knew immediately that flying was what I wanted to do. I began flight training at 15 here in Florida and have been fully immersed in aviation ever since. As a flight instructor, I focus on creating a supportive learning environment where students gain the confidence, knowledge, and habits needed for safe, successful flying.

Hi, I’m Gretchen. I knew I wanted to be a pilot from the moment I took off on my first commercial flight at 18. After earning my degree in Education, I entered the industry as a dispatcher for a charter company, which eventually led me to Aamro. I’m proud to have earned my Private Pilot License here. I’m even more excited to be back, this time as an instructor, fulfilling my dream of teaching at the very place where I first learned to fly.

Hi, my name is Cam VanNatta and I am an instructor at Aamro Aviation! With two Air Force parents, I have loved aviation for as long as I can remember. My dream in aviation is to make it to the airlines and join the guard down the line, all with the motivation to help people. I hope to encourage my students to work and fly hard!

I started flying when I was 19 years old and fell in love with it. I ended up going to Embry-Riddle and graduating with a Bachelors in Aeronautical Science and a minor in airline operations. Right now I am working on finishing up my CFII and hopefully start instructing!

Hi there, I’m Matthew Calise. I was born and raised in West Palm Beach and have been with Aamro since June of 2021. Aviation has been a part of my life since I was a kid and I’m currently working on my commercial pilot license.

Additionally, I’m working towards a bachelor’s degree in aviation management with an associate in professional Pilot Technology.

Hi, I’m Frank. I enjoy aviation and teaching others to be safe and competent pilots. I taught martial arts for many years and have brought my passion for teaching to aviation. I also enjoy staying fit and I play piano as a hobby.

I am currently enrolled in Liberty University’s Online Bachelor of science in aeronautics program, and will be completing my flight training at Aamro though the Liberty flight training affiliate program. My Name is Alberto Ramos, I’m Mexico-Panamanian. From when I was young I was always surrounded by airplanes, and since then that has been my only dream. Currently, I’m finishing my commercial single certificate and looking forward to being a professional pilot. I’ve been with AAMRO since 2023 and has been the most grateful experience. I’m Andres Herrera, and my passion for aviation has been with me since I was a child. Growing up with my mom working in the airline industry, I had the incredible opportunity to sit in the cockpit of an A320, which sparked my dream of becoming a pilot. That moment was a turning point, and it set me on a path to pursue a career in aviation

Hi, my name is Liz Miller! I dispatch the flights out of the Lantana location. I graduated from Florida State with a bachelor’s in finance, but found a love for aviation after my first discovery flight and got my private this past May. I’m excited to continue my flight training with Aamro as well as make connections in the aviation community!

Aviation it’s always been one of my greatest passions and being part of it carries a real sense of purpose. Over time, I’ve come to understand that aviation is not just about flying—it’s about responsibility, consistency, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Not every flight you take is the same and that fact strengthens not only technical ability, but also respect for this amazing profession.

Working and studying in an aviation environment at Aamro, gives a real sense of how much effort happens behind the scenes. From the ground operations to keep the planes airworthy to the coordination, planning and safety culture of our team, everything is built around responsibility and attention to detail. Being able to observe and participate in that environment creates a deeper respect for the industry as a whole.

There’s something powerful about simply being around aircraft—the sound, the movement, and the constant reminder that aviation is both highly technical and deeply human. Every flight represents trust: trust in systems, in training, and in the people who keep everything running smoothly. That trust becomes something you don’t just see, but start to feel and understand over time.

What makes the experience even more meaningful is the learning process that comes with it. Every day in aviation brings something new to absorb, whether it’s procedures, safety standards, or how different roles connect to support our team and students. It builds appreciation not just for flying itself, but for every person involved in making aviation safe and efficient.

Being part of Aamro Aviation has allowed me to continue developing these qualities in a meaningful way. With each year, the goal becomes clearer—to keep building experience, sharpening skills, and moving closer to turning this passion into a lifelong profession.

My name is Daniel Giovanni Scarpellino, I am 21 years old, and I am currently a front desk worker here at Aamro Aviation. My dream has always been to become a professional airline pilot. This dream started when I was a kid, sitting in the cockpit of a Delta Boeing 737. I have always loved going to the airport, and I always looked forward to and was excited for my next flight out of Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach International, and Miami International airports. I am currently attending Lynn University for college and pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Professional Pilot. I am also currently taking flight lessons here at Aamro Aviation. Day by day, my dream of becoming a professional airline pilot is becoming a reality, and it has all started here at Aamro Aviation.

Hi, I’m Lilly Carver! Ever since my first flight here at Aamro in 2022, I’ve been passionate about flying and the aviation community. I recently graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a degree in Aeronautical Science and earned my Commercial Multi-Engine Pilot Certificate. As I continue working toward a career in aviation, I’m excited to share my love of flying and help others along the way.
